The proud owner and restorer is Raymond Muehling of Amarillo, TX.

Raymond’s Story:  I purchased this truck in 1991 as a project for the price of $450.00, the restoration took six years and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears.  The wife hit a guard rail with it during the process and got thrown out the door and earned the nick name "The I-40 Roller”.  Luckily the damage was not too severe to either her or the truck!  We repaired the damage and continued to the finish of the restoration.  I no longer have pictures of its condition at the time of purchase but let me just say that it was not pretty, however the fact that it was a Cheyenne Model with very little rust led me to believe that it was worth the time, money and effort.  No drivetrain, no bumpers, no wheels or tires, both trailing arms were extremely bent, the dash had been, pilfered, the interior was torn and battered, and was found setting in a ditch behind the owners house.  I've owned this truck for 34 years and have never regretted the decision I made to restore it.  Every time I get in it and turn the key, I'm glad that I bought it, not to mention all of the compliments and admiring looks I get while cruising down the highway.

Even dual exhaust.

Nice view at the lake.

Good in shade or sun!

Just like GM made it.

Even has a tachometer.

One of Chevy’s best. The 350 V8.

We at Jim Carter Truck Parts chose Raymond’s Cheyenne for our  “Feature Truck of the Month” because it so exemplified how so many truck owners have followed in his footsteps. They want to restore it themselves!  The instinct for a hobby that would give them pride at completion was strong.
