These are custom made black wires with correct "open metal ends" where they attach to spark plug. (Just like Chevrolet made them for the 216 and eariler engines) Thus, the rubber plug beside the engine head did not deteriate from heat. Select this wire set when you expect the best on the market. They are not just get by universal wire sets. Can also be used on the later 235, 6 cylinder engines. (They have a carbon core to stop radio static) Chevrolet and GMC. NOTE: If you prefer the wires covered at the spark plug end, check ELW540.
