This cross member fits well when you place a modern automatic transmission in the 1939-1959 older GM truck. Eliminate the hassle of fabricating a rear crossmember, and position your engine and transmission where you want them, they'll support most standard and automatic transmissions with open channel frames and widths of 26 in. to 36 in. between the frame rails. 6-inch drop makes a successful fit.NOTE: We recommend the use of the transmission mount pad, MET102.Cross Member Sold each.
