When you want to upgrade your charging system and still use the original negative ground 6 volt system. Has internal voltage regulator. NOTE: Designed to replace the original generator which has about 30 amp charging capacity. These one wire alternators are rebuilt to charge over 40 amps to protect ruining your original rare in-dash amp meter by high over amp charging from a total dead battery. Sold each. No Core Charge! IMPORTANT: This alternator has the newer 3/8" crankshaft pulley on the 1953 and 1954 6 volt engine. If you have the 1937-52 216 engine with 5/8" wider crankshaft pulley, use REHP134N.
