Tell us about your truck :

My late father (Anthony Sapio) purchased this 1951 GMC truck from a used car lot in the late 1980's. At the time the truck had about 28K miles on the original engine. We were told it was first used in the Korean war as a medical/maintenance vehicle, then transferred to the NJ Turnpike Authority before being sold to a private owner. My father drove the car home from the lot and knew it needed to be restored, so he turned to none other than Jim Carter. In the days before the internet and high resolution cameras, my mother and father would send in money orders to Jim Carter to purchase products from the catalog. To this day, I still have some of the original P.O.'s and even handwritten notes to Jim Carter inquiring about parts. Sadly, my father passed away in 1994 at 38 years old and the vehicle sat under a tarp until I was able to home it in a garage. Finally, at 44 years old I am now beginning to purchase the remaining parts to restore the truck to its' glory.
