Tell us about your truck :

This 1951 GMC 1 1/2 ton truck was purchased new by my grandfather whom passed away 6 months after I was born (spring of 1985) the truck was used around the farm for hauling hay, dry fertilizer, seed corn and beans and also for hauling cattle on occasion which the sides have additional cattle racks solid oak that slide into the solid wood sides. The truck was occasionally started and always kept in the shed. I began restoring the truck in high school early 2000’s starting with getting the brakes to function and moving onto upgrading the electrical system to 12 volts and than body work having a smaller flatbed by Omaha standard installed and painting to a close as the original color as possible. This truck is true part of the family! as interested as I was growing up playing in it and learning so many things through the restoration process now my young children are showing their interest and love for old trucks and can’t wait to be past down to the next generation!
