Just wanted an old truck I could paint red but then when I found this one and realized it only had two owners, was all original, and almost 100 years old I feel a responsibility to restore it properly. Not sure if it’s better kept in this original state or totally redone. Seeking advice and info from antique experts. Initial

Bought it from a morning coffee drinker. He really didn't want to sell, but I stuck my hand in his face to close the deal, and before he had time to think he grabbed my hand. Done deal. he cussed a bit but held true to the handshake. Took me about 3 years to complete, and unknown amount. I think it turned out nice. 350 with 700r4. Air , P/S, electric seats, special made toolbox. Love driving it

I have owned old blue for over 20 years. My son and I bought this truck when he was 3. We drove a few hours out to the top of a mountain to get it. I’ll never forget how cold that night was. It was freezing in the teens. . The truck had no heat. The th400 Trans was slipping. Put new filter and fluid in it and over 200k miles later still holding. The motor blew up a few months after I bought it for $2000, and spent that Christmas putting a new crate gm in it to avoid the in-laws. My 2 daughters loved riding in it and always fell asleep driving wherever we went to the drone of the flowmaster OG’s. All three learned to drive on it around 8 years old and each drove home from the dmv in it. We’ve hauled cedar Christmas trees off the mountain, goats, tractors, and car hauled countless other trucks home on a car hauler on it. Super safe. We have loaded it with hundreds of loads of mulch, fencing, metal, junk, motorcycles, building materials, and it will always be in the family. My youngest calls dibs on it. I replaced the engine once, rockers, brake lines, finally rewired the whole truck a couple years ago and redid the interior. No more fires under the dash while driving. My kids never wore seatbelts and always felt safe in this old truck with dad. Our German Shepherd Bullet and now Belgian Malinois Gypsy love standing out the window. For more than 13 years I drove 50 miles each way to school and used it to tow my landscaping trailer and mowers after school. They still want to drive it when they come home from college and the military. Each one has an old Chevrolet truck they restored with flowmasters, doing the bodywork with their grandfather, and mechanical with me. A couple years ago we all rode 4 wide as they are now all grown and that was nice. I will never restore it, and hope they won’t and just keep being the caretaker of it and enjoying all the good memories and smells and think about all the good times with their dad.
