My truck was restored about 7 years ago and even though not original colors, it was restored back to original condition. The 216 engine was overhauled and now has insert bearings in place of babbit. The truck runs great and we take it to car shows in a regular basis.

Purchased in 2018, have put 500 miles on Tillie since 2021. Restored with "stock as possible" parts over three years. Had friends do body work and painting and local machine shop rebuilt the 216 original engine, but father and son did the bulk of frame-off restoration work, including tap and die work on nuts and bolts down to the frame, with mom helping with budgeting, fine "small hand wrenching," and color selection Top speed: 50 MPH (but she likes 40-43 mph)

A few years ago I became the custodian (owner) of a farm fresh 1962 Chevy C60 livestock/grain truck. She came to me with a livestock bed with folding sides and, it's a dump-that works. She's pretty much original with a few mods and upgrades to keep her pounding the pavement. Everything works, even the original AM radio. She's propelled by the venerable 261 ci six; and it still has it's original large bore carb. There's a 4 speed SM420 trans and a GM 2 speed rear. She still rolls on Firestone R5 "widowmaker" wheels (I mount tires myself since nobody outside of farm country has the knowledge, or courage, to do it ????). She still wears her original Omaha Orange paint, but I will be redoing that soon since it's wearing very thin (I'm not a "patina" fan). I installed an aluminum radiator, dual stainless exhaust manifolds, and 100 amp alternator to ensure cooling and starting. I also just completed a significant brake upgrade with the addition of a dual master cylinder with firewall mount booster; and now she stops-extremely well. My brake upgrade retains the original, unmodified, pedal assembly and uses a stock, year appropriate, master cylinder for the hydraulic clutch. I drive the truck regularly and it's my wife and I date night and camper tow vehicle. I am now on your website looking at engine components in preparation for rebuilding the great running, but 86,000 mile, engine. Once the mechanicals are factory fresh I'll do the paint and interior. I'm aware this isn't the typical restoration candidate but people love it; especially country girls (my wife thinks it's hilarious that they want their picture taken in/on it. So..., I installed an aditional hood support so they can sit on the hood for photos). She cruises 55 with ease and will do much more when needed. And, with the independent front suspension it's like driving a pickup! The best thing is, I have "big truck" capability and looks in a truck that's the same size as my Dodge pickups. I've been asked to sell her many times (for quite significant sums) but believe it or not my wife won't let me do it. Gotta' love it!!!
